Glimpsed from the busy coastal road that leads to St Tropez (look out for the glowing giant cube sculpture on the lawn), Le Kube, a former health clinic, could easily be taken for a starkly contemporary private home. But as you step through the perspex cube housing the check-in desk, the friendly, hip vibe kicks in immediately. The latest venture from Murano Hotels & Resorts is a 41-room 'fun in the sun' little sister for the slick, urban Le Kube in Paris. There are no fewer than four bars, two pools, and a small wellness spa (with a private coach on call). The sunny rooms are a minimalist medley of white, taupe and grey, with a mascot teddy bear placed on each fluffy duvet, and custom-made armchairs and sofas by Ligne Roset. Lounging is de rigueur: lunch is served until 5pm, and creative chef Ronan Kernen will whip up a variety of treats, from foie gras macaroons to passion fruit crème brulée, at any hour. The star attraction is the Ice Kube bar, where a suntanned clubbing crowd dons parkas and gloves to sample Grey Goose vodkas in sub-zero temperatures. After sunset, guests drift upstairs to the rooftop terrace where live DJs play music into the wee hours. And if ever you tire of the buzzy scene, the village and beaches are just a 10-minute shuttle-ride away.
