You can't escape art in Germany's capital, whether it's graffiti-daubed train stations, open-air 'walls-as-galleries' -or one of the 50 rooms in the Arte Luise, each created by a different artist. Sleep comes easily in the half-finished minimalist studio of New Yorker Augustus Goertz, while it's the last thing on your mind in the velvet and brocade Cabaret room, complete with erotic dancers (they're mannequins). It's rare to get a budget bed so central -the Reichstag, Brandenburger Gate and the river Spree are nearby.
