Installed since 1929 in the spa town of Yamashiro, Beniya Mukayu draws its inspiration from Zen philosophy. Here, the beautiful is subtly suggested in the interplay and contrast between shade and light, neutral colours in a highly original architectural structure serenely merging into the voluptuous natural setting. Each of the 17 rooms has its own private open-air hot spring bath and looks onto an authentic Japanese garden. The traditional tea ceremony performed by the owner, yoga lessons given by his wife, the kaiseki cuisine served on local craft dishes, as well as invigorating medicinal spa treatments make Beniya Mukayu a haven of peace.
