Apollo Hotel Breda City Centre Description

Apollo Hotel Breda City Centre is conveniently located across from the main train station and at walking distance from the city centre. Experience traditional hospitality right here.

Breda enjoys an age-old reputation of liveliness and a welcoming atmosphere. Come and experience all the hidden treasures of this beautiful southern region.

The hotel is distributed between two parts: the atmospheric main building (a former post office) with classic rooms and a new wing which houses the design rooms.

This is the second hotel of a new Dutch chain called Apollo Hotels I tried (first one in Almere). Again, a pleasant surprise that hotels in smaller cities don't have to be the typical cookie cutter chain properties you find everywhere. The Apollo Breda is right next to the train station with easy connections anywhere in The Netherlands and also in Belgium. Breda by the way is a very pleasant city indeed, full of shops and restaurants. The main part used to be the city's post office. It houses the older 'classic' rooms, a bar/restaurant and a breakfast area. The whole downstairs is done in moody blacks and greys, quite sophisticated! Through a double height glass atrium you reach the new wing which houses the 'design' rooms and meeting rooms. I booked one of these design rooms. My room had a clever lay-out. I especially liked the cocoon feeling you get in the bed, as the ceiling and walls are partially covered as in a cocoon. Nice firm mattress and a desk which doubles as a table you can actually sit at having something to eat from room service. Although the hotel is next to the railway line, did not hear a single train! Welcoming staff. In all, a very pleasant stay.
