Though located in a bit dull business area, Amsterdam's "South Axis" area it is however very convenient. A tram stops in front which takes you directly to the museums and shopping. The South Station is within walking distance, an easy hop to the airport. Rooms are small but cutting-edge. Even the whole bathroom is eliminated to two round 'beam me up scotty' glass cilindres, one containg a shower and one the toilet. Might cause some problems with couples not to intimate. The whole room can be 'arranged' with a mood pad controlling lights (pink room anyone?), curtains, music, tv, wake-up call but no room service. The bed is fantastic though, placed right in front of the window. Outisde not looking to much at anyway as this is not a scenic canal side location. The lack of space of the room is made up in the downstairs 'living area' which looks like a Vitra showroom. Not bad at all! Also some nice books to look at and magazines to read. Found the staff very welcome, young and eager to please. Even if you have to do your own check-in. Thumps up for this new hotel chain/concept!
