Gran Melia Colon Description

Originally opened under the banner of The Majestic in 1929, Gran Meliá Colón was a magnet for the bravado of Seville's famed bullfighters. Today, though, it draws more than just Matadors.

In Seville's old corner, historic architecture awaits at every turn. When there's so much greatness to see, how does one find examples that stand out as "great-er?" Heading in the general direction of Gran Meliá Colón is a good start. Stop when you see the neo-Baroque façade to admire the hotel's first impression (they say you only get one chance) before stepping inside to be greeted by the works of Marcel Wanders and Philippe Stark.

Getting things started on the right foot is important, which is why Gran Meliá Colón has merged the red carpet with white gloves to birth Red Glove Service, an experience you'll not soon forget.

A wide variety of rooms exist here, most with prints of classic Spanish works of art covering the door. For those looking to be blown away, check in to Red Level, Gran Meliá Colón's hotel-within-a-hotel concept. From access to a private lounge and free breakfast, to afternoon bar service and a pillow menu, Red Level will leave you glowing.

Three dining options await travelers: El Burladero, Tapas y Tintos by Dani Garcia, Majestic, and El Tendido. Respectively, cooking styles range from bold and rustic Spanish, to International, to light fare and creative cocktails. Don't have time to try them all? Well … you better make time.
