Copperhill Mountain Lodge Description

Mt. Åreskutan rises 1420 metres out of a trough of copper ore in central Sweden's Jämtland province, towering over shining snow-capped forests and sparkling frozen lakes. The charming town of Åre located on its eastern slope began as a small mining village with just 200 inhabitants. Over the past century, it has grown first to favoured hunting spot, then to natural health retreat and, finally, to flourishing ski resort town, Sweden's most popular. For centuries, the fresh mountain air and stunning natural landscape have been attracting visitors from around the world. The latest addition to this Nordic gem is the Copperhill Mountain Lodge, a delightful mountain resort hotel. Drawing inspiration from Åre's grand era of copper mining, the lodge boasts a warm helping of rustic mountain charm, while at the same time featuring all the comfort and services of a top-tier resort. The 112 rooms range from doubles to eight-bed suites, all with magnificent views, LCD TV, heated bathroom floor, SMEG kitchenette, dishwasher, fridge and microwave, the perfect spots to cosy up with a cup of hot cocoa after a jam-packed day exploring Jämtland. The resort features ski-in/ski-out facilities and even has its own lift, the Copperhill Express, so that guests can hit the world-class Åre slopes with ease. The in-house Copperhill Ski Club is happy to arrange dozens of other activities for guests, including a Snow Mobile Safari, dog sledding, paragliding, zip line courses, horseback riding, ice driving, cave tours, fishing courses, guided canoe tours, white water rafting courses and guided off-piste and helicopter skiing. It also offers a wide selection of kayaks, bikes and other equipment for rental and leads guided excursions to the old Fröågruva mine. Weekly socialising events include cross-country ski lessons, snowshoe excursions, wine academies, tobogganing outings, chocolate tasting and, of course, après-ski parties. For a warm atmosphere and crackling fire, guests can head to the hotel's Fireside Lounge and Bar, while the gourmet restaurant Niesti is the place to go when for a hearty meal. For slope-style lunch and après-ski, there's the Coppermine Co. Skier's Inn, a charmingly rustic slope restaurant at the top of the hotel lift, offering vin chaud, live music and wood-oven pizza. A slightly more sophisticated après-ski is offered at the CU Champagne Bar and private lounge. Those in need of some quiet relaxation after an active day in the mountains can head to the Sami-themed Copperhill Spa, the perfect place to recharge with essential oil treatments and rejuvenating steam baths. Whether its relaxation, adventure or entertainment that guests seek, the Copperhill Mountain Lodge has it all along with a satisfying dose of authentic local charm and traces of a gleaming copper past.
