Although it is the latest hotel by the Scandic chain it is housed in a building over 130 years old. The hip interiors are by architectural firm Koncept. Music, playfulness, photography and creativity stand as core elements. The Stockholm culture vibrates through the large portrait photographs of well-known Stockholm personalities such as Adam Tensta and Jonas Akerlund.

Scandic Grand Central is located 150 metres from Stockholm's Central Station with metro, bus and rail links plus the stop for the Arlanda Airport Express. You are near shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Though you do not have to go very far as the hotels has its own popular restaurant Teaterbrasseriet and a bar/lounge offering live music 3 to 5 nights a week.

Unique is the "Blogger's Inn". The room's amenities and fixings, carefully tailored to the needs and desires of digital entrepreneurs, reflect the results of a thorough market survey. Hey, we could be staying there!

Rooms are by no means large -there are even some windowless 'cabins'-, but you may opt for a larger superior or a suite. We like the funky decor and wooden floors, but there is no room for a minibar and the smallest rooms not even have a desk which come with the standard rooms and 'up'. Hurray for the flat-screen TV (in every room) and free Wi-Fi.
