The Dellago is neither a luxury nor a design hotel but a casual, simple, small contemporary boutique hotel with a strong headed personality & refreshing hospitality for short, relaxing city escapes in a particularly légère atmosphere. As a downright niche product which can not & does not want to please everyone, we also stay away from all usual Ticino clichees, attracting cosmopolitan people who do not rely their wellbeing on social status or on stiff & formal behaviour, but just like to be themselfs.

Todays concept is based on a classic, somewhat outmoded 3*hotel which has developed itself into a colourful & lively lifestyle hotel since we took over in 2001. Our services & products do not base on classic criteria of hotel classifications because we do many things better, some things different, a couple of things less consequent or not at all.

Because the 100 year old building - originally an unsophisticated, bog-standard 3*hotel - is not in our possession, we create atmosphere with little funds & professional handy man creativity to establish a nonchalant credibility without changing the building substancially. You will not find luxurious materials nor pompous features nor grand designer brands. Do not expect to find porters, car-, lift- or bellboys, housekeeping twice a day, a conciergerie or a reception desk with smiling girlz waiting for you any time of the day or night, but you will find a house which like a theater stage changes tiny details from day to day and arranges new sceneries from year to year: there are people behind, not money.
