Union Square
Surrounded by the sights, sounds and sensations of beautiful San Francisco, Hotel Union Square, the city’s first boutique hotel, caters to both leisure and business travelers seeking a fresh and innovative hotel experience. Constructed in 1913 for the Pan American Exposition, the building carries a warm and nostalgic history. Gladys Perint Palmer, a prominent fashion illustrator and Executive Director of Fashion at the Academy of Art University, was commissioned to create original canvas drawings exclusively for the Hotel Union Square. Modern influences from designers such as Charles Rennie Macintosh are augmented by rich jewel toned textiles and dramatic original artwork highlighting a vintage San Francisco. Despite a recent modern makeover, it has remained faithful to its Art Deco History by fusing contemporary themes with classic ones. Gorgeous brick walls, signature staircases, mosaic murals and luxurious moldings are enhanced by rich shades of darkest purple, claret, ochre green and golden yellow.
Hotel Union Square, heavily influenced by current European concepts, delivers a look that is casual yet sophisticated. Each of the hotel’s 131 guest rooms features a bold and contemporary interior complemented by sleek custom furnishings. They consist of platform beds with custom-made cream headboards and luxurious bedding, drop panel ceilings, velvety lounges, smooth dark wood desks, custom lighting, and expansive mirrors, all of which blend perfectly with original artwork portraying San Francisco's most renowned scenes. The hotel’s rooftop penthouses boast panoramic views of the city’s skyline and each features a private rooftop deck and spacious sitting room ideal for receptions and meetings. A wide array of audio and visual equipment is available upon request. Travelers can also unwind at the hotel’s complimentary Fitness Center.
Hotel Union Square is located on the historic cable car line, in the heart of the city of San Francisco’s shopping district. The hotel is located only 1 km from key attractions including AT&T Park, the Embarcadero Center, the San Francisco Opera and the Ferry Building Marketplace.
